Last June, our Cambodian ministry leaders gathered in Kampot with a singular focus: to seek the Lord together for a time of refreshment. We can confidently say that our prayers were answered. God moved deeply in our hearts, leaving everyone encouraged, renewed in spirit, and united in love.
A Safe Place for Tears and Laughter
Throughout the four-day retreat, our community experienced a beautiful deepening of relationships. As walls came down, participants opened up to one another, sharing their struggles, offering mutual support, and providing heartfelt encouragement. It was a profound picture in what true, Christ-centered community is supposed to look like.

Two specific reflections beautifully captured the heart of our workshops:
Dalen shared a powerful reminder that God does not only use pastors or official leaders to be a blessing; He can use anyone to encourage and bless those around them.
Auntie Yew Hwa challenged us regarding how we speak to one another. We often take those closest to us for granted, forgetting to be careful with our words and actions. Because God is love, everything we do must be done in love.
A New Vision: Acts 2:42
The workshops allowed everyone to reflect on our old ways and align ourselves with God’s will. We were reminded to anchor ourselves firmly in the truth of God’s Word and reject any lies we’ve been believing.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to share the new vision for LAV: to see faith communities that are devoted to scripture, sharing, and supplication, modeled after the early church in Acts 2:42. To prepare for this growth, the community evaluated its strengths and weaknesses, committing to work together to become better as we draw closer to the Lord.

The Perfect Ending
Towards the end of the retreat, God blessed us with the ultimate confirmation of His grace. As we prayed together, we were able to lead our bus driver, Mr Sothea (gentleman at the bottom right of the photo), to Christ!

Praise be to God for adding a new believer to the family and providing such a wonderful conclusion to our time in Kampot.
Keep Praying With Us
May God continue to work on each and every heart. As we step into this new vision, please continue to pray with us that the LAV community will mirror the early church—and that God will continue to add to our number daily those who are being saved.
All glory to God!
