Peam Village

Peam Village is located in Puok District, one of the twelve districts in Siem Reap. As the village is located in the Apsara region, no drastic developments are allowed in it.

It takes about 35 to 40 minutes to drive to Peam Village from the town area. The villagers usually earn their livelihoods from construction work.

Sunday School is conducted from 1-3 pm every Sunday and around 100 students attend the Sunday School. As part of our ministry to Peam Village, we distribute food packs to around 70 poor families in Peam 3 times a year. Both programmes are supported by Bay City Church in Sydney, Australia.

Love-A-Village has set up an English School in the same compound. It is our hope that the children will be open to the gospel and start attending Sunday School. This contributes to our goal of spreading the gospel while serving the needs of the Cambodians through the means of education.

Peam English School

Peam English School takes in students from Grades 3 to 6 and conducts English and Bible Study classes to support the students’ language, personal and spiritual development and growth. There are currently 96 students enrolled in Peam English School. The school is operated by our team members, Sreisros, Sreyka and Dalen.

For the English classes, the lessons mainly focus on speaking, listening, writing and reading. Students learn new words to develop their vocabulary via exercises and they practise speaking through group discussion and role playing.

From the skills that they gained in class, they were able to carry out a short presentation in English and most of the students also passed the exams and met the lessons’ objectives. In September last year, a graduation ceremony was conducted for students who finished the academic year and passed their exams.

In their Bible classes, students are taught hymns and stories from the Bible through crafts and games. The students are also encouraged to memorise a few Bible verses every month. Additionally,  the school also organized a Christmas celebration to evangelize to the students and parents in Peam Village.

Peam Sunday School

Love A Village engages four teachers in Peam Village to conduct Sunday School for the children. The teachers are Sreyphourn, Vatey, Saovdern and Panha. They are supported by four assistants: Deb, Rosa, Pharim and Vicheka.

There are around 35 students attending the Sunday School classes weekly. During these classes, the teachers share Bible stories and organise craft activities for the children.

To children who are non-believers, the teachers also shared the Gospel using Samaritan’s Purse. This brought in 16 new students from Peam (14) and Kok Thmey (2) who accepted the Lord Jesus as their saviour. They have been attending Peam Sunday School weekly since then.

Last year on Mother’s day, children from both Kok Thmey and Peam Sunday School were invited to participate in a small activity where they wrote letters for their mothers. Then, in December 2025, Peam Sunday School also celebrated Christmas with 60 students. The story of the birth of Jesus was taught to the students. Activities such as games and shows were conducted for the children to have fun and win some prizes.
