Oct 2026: Highlights from Youth Camp

Camp Theme: Be my witness, make disciples

At Youth Camp, local youth, leaders, and international team members came together for a 2 day 1 night camp that went far beyond a standard youth gathering. The camp was designed to be welcoming for everyone, creating a warm environment where genuine community could thrive. Looking back through the reflections from our campers and group leaders, God was undoubtedly at the center of it all.

Relational Mentorship & Personal Growth

For our youth, faith growth was deeply rooted in personal care. When asked how their teachers helped increase their faith, campers highlighted simple, everyday moments rather than big presentations. They shared how teachers stayed with them when they felt isolated, prayed for them when they were scared, and patiently answered their questions about Scripture.

Attending camp helped the youth realize they aren’t alone, connecting them to a broader community of young believers. This community gave them the confidence to ask honest questions and draw closer to God.

Overcoming Language Barriers & Crossing Cultures

The cross-cultural dynamics brought a unique beauty to the camp. Azyrah, a mission tripper from Australia, reflected on initial worries about language barriers:

“As an Australian coming into a Khmer camp, I was worried that there would be a language barrier. However, God used that and made it into an experience that only He could provide. The camp was filled with laughter and joy, and seeing the excitement in all the youths’ faces warmed my heart.”

Local group leaders, like Panha, served with immense passion, patiently helping Azyrah understand Khmer and keeping her group motivated. From high-energy team cheers—where groups competed with friendly banter and unique routines—to quiet moments and amazing meals, true connections were forged across cultures.

Practical Preparation for the Gospel

The central thread of the camp was equipping everyone to share the gospel and make disciples in their daily lives.

  • For the Youth: Campers reflected on the importance of personal heart preparation and living as good role models so others will listen when they speak about Jesus. Most movingly, many expressed a strong desire to start by sharing the gospel with their own families.
  • For Azyrah: She gained hands-on experience in real-life evangelism, learning how to approach different situations, discern what others need, and act with a servant heart. She shared, “I definitely have more confidence and a new fire to go back… and make disciples of God.”

A Lasting Impact

Youth Camp planted seeds in the hearts of youth and leaders alike—seeds of love, revival, and connection that will continue to grow long after camp has ended. We are deeply grateful to everyone who prayed for, supported, and served during this unforgettable 2 days.
